12Cr2Mo1VR Steel Plate for Pressure Vessels (GB/T 713)

12Cr2Mo1VR is a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium pressure vessel steel plate grade under the Chinese national standard. The manufacturing specification is GB/T 713.2-2023 (previous version: GB/T 713-2014), and the ultrasonic testing standard is NB/T 47013.3-2015.

This grade is a chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel with higher chromium and molybdenum content, offering excellent high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and hydrogen corrosion resistance for severe elevated temperature and high-pressure hydrogen service. It is equivalent to 13CrMoV9-10 in the EN standard and SA542 Type D in the ASME standard.

12Cr2Mo1VR steel plates are impact tested at -20 C as standard, with minimum absorbed energy of 60 J (average).

12Cr2Mo1VR designation explanation: 12 stands for average carbon content (0.12%), Cr denotes Chromium, Mo denotes Molybdenum, V denotes Vanadium, R denotes Pressure Vessel Steel.

Product Overview

12Cr2Mo1VR Steel Plate is a high-strength chromium-molybdenum-vanadium pressure vessel steel manufactured in accordance with GB/T 713.2-2023. It contains higher chromium (2.00-2.50%), molybdenum (0.90-1.10%), and vanadium (0.25-0.35%) content, providing excellent high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and hydrogen corrosion resistance for severe elevated temperature and high-pressure hydrogen service.

Compared with 12Cr2Mo1R, 12Cr2Mo1VR offers the addition of vanadium (0.25-0.35%) which refines grain structure and significantly improves high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and is specifically designed for the most demanding hydrogen service applications.
