Q235FTB Mechanical Properties and Processing Properties
| Property / Thickness | Grade: Q235FT Class: B |
|---|---|
| Yield Strength ReL (MPa) min - Thickness ≤16mm | 235 |
| Yield Strength ReL (MPa) min - Thickness >16~40mm | 225 |
| Yield Strength ReL (MPa) min - Thickness >40~100mm | 215 |
| Tensile Strength Rm (MPa) | 360~510 |
| Elongation after fracture A (%) min | 24 |
| Impact Energy KV2 (J) min | 47 |
| 180° Bending Test - Thickness ≤16mm | d=2a |
| 180° Bending Test - Thickness >16~100mm | d=3a |
- When yield strength is not significant, Rp0.2 can be used instead of lower yield strength.
- When the thickness is >60mm, the elongation after fracture can be reduced by 1%.
- The impact test uses longitudinal specimens.
- Impact test temperatures corresponding to different quality grades: B: 20℃, C: 0℃, D: -20℃, E: -40℃, F: -50℃.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Q235FTB and regular Q235B?
Q235FTB is a special grade within the Q235 family, designated for "wind power" (Feng Tan) applications. The key difference is its guaranteed impact toughness at low temperatures (-20°C), which is a critical requirement for wind turbine structures exposed to harsh environments. Regular Q235B does not have this mandatory low-temperature impact requirement.
What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
Our standard MOQ is 25 metric tons for plates and 50 metric tons for coils. However, we are flexible and can discuss smaller trial orders for new customers.
Can you provide samples?
Yes, we can provide small material samples for testing purposes. Please include your sample request in the inquiry form, and we will confirm availability and any associated costs.
Do you offer third-party inspection services?
Absolutely. We routinely cooperate with internationally recognized inspection companies like SGS, BV, or TÜV for pre-shipment inspection and testing at the mill or port, at the buyer's request and cost.
