NM500 Abrasion Resistant Steel Plate
Chinese NM500 high strength abrasion resistant steel plate — engineered for extreme wear conditions in mining, quarrying, and heavy machinery. Meets GB/T 24186-2022 standard.
Extended Service Life
470-540 HBW hardness delivers exceptional wear resistance, 7-10x longer life than structural steel.
High Strength & Toughness
Tensile strength ≥1350 MPa, impact toughness -20°C ≥21J (D grade).
Good Workability
Can be cut, bent, and welded using proper procedures and preheating.
Decoding the Grade: NM500
International Standards & Comparisons
Note: NM500 provides an excellent balance of hardness and wear resistance for extreme abrasion conditions. AR500/XAR500/Hardox500 are approximate commercial equivalents.
Domestic Grade Comparison (NM500 / NM500D / NM500E)
According to GB/T 24186-2022, NM500D and NM500E are low-temperature impact grades. D grade guarantees impact toughness ≥21J at -20°C, E grade guarantees ≥18J at -40°C (thickness ≤60mm).
Why Choose NM500 Wear Plate?
Superior Durability
Optimized low-carbon design with micro-alloying ensures exceptional abrasion resistance.
High Impact Toughness
≥21J at -20°C (D grade) or ≥18J at -40°C (E grade), ideal for cold climates.
Good Fabrication
Cutting, bending, drilling and welding with proper procedures and preheating.

Technical FAQ
SMAW, GMAW, FCAW. Preheat 200-250°C for thickness >20mm, low hydrogen practices.
Transverse: 7t-8t, Longitudinal: 8t-9t. Not recommended for tight bends.
Plasma, waterjet, abrasive cutting. Laser cutting ≤20mm with preheating.
≤40mm uniform, 40-70mm slight core decrease within tolerance.
Continuous ≤250°C, short peaks ≤300°C. Higher temps reduce hardness.
D grade: ≥21J @ -20°C; E grade: ≥18J @ -40°C (≤60mm).
